Are the ski slopes floodlit?
Yes, our ski slopes are fully floodlit. We also have outdoor lighting around all buildings and pathways, meaning we can stay open until late evening.
Where can I park?
We have free parking onsite.
How many slopes do you have?
Our facility has four skiing slopes, each equipped with two drag lifts (button lifts). There are two beginner-friendly nursery slopes, measuring 30m and 50m length. Additionally, we offer a primary slope spanning 140m and a slalom race slope that extends 65m, seamlessly connecting with the main slope.
What qualifications do the instructors have?
The instructors are all a minimum of BASI level 1 (or equivalent) trained. Advanced level skiing is taught by a Level 2 instructor or above.
Are lift tickets included in the course or session fee?
Yes, you do not have to pay extra for use of the lifts.
I have a disability. Can I ski?
Please note that we try our best to make activities accessible to as many people as possible. To avoid disappointment, if you have a physical, sensory or mental impairment, it is very important you get in touch with us before you make a booking or visit to discuss any special needs you or members of your party may have. With sufficient notice, we will do our best to make amendments to our standard operating procedures and staffing levels to be able to accommodate participants with special needs. We work with Disability Snowsport (DSUK) to help make skiing as accessible as possible. If you want to view their website, click here.
What is your helmet policy?
Anyone under 15 years of age for all activities, or anyone participating in racing must wear a helmet on the slopes at all times.
What safety measures are in place?
Helmets are not a legal requirement, however, we do provide them and recommend that you wear them. All ski instructors are fully qualified, and we carry out DBS checks. All ski instructors are First Aid trained.
What is the cancellation or refund policy for ski courses?
There is a two-week cancellation policy for all of our ski courses and lessons to receive a full refund. After this time we may be able to reschedule or refund you but only if the slot can be resold. If we need to cancel due to extreme weather conditions, we will provide a full refund or transfer your course to another date.
What equipment do I need and is it provided?
Boots, skis and helmets are provided by us, and this is included in the cost of the course/session. You will need to wear comfortable outdoor clothing, long socks and bring some gloves with you. We are an outdoor centre, so please bring waterproof clothing if it is raining. Should you have your own ski equipment, you are welcome to bring it with you.
What should I wear for my skiing activity?
Please ensure all participants wear suitable clothing: trousers, long-sleeved tops and gloves are required. We also recommend ski socks. This remains the same in hot weather and we do not have spare clothing onsite.
What happens in case of bad weather?
Activities will continue as normal in bad weather, but we may close in extreme conditions like lightning. We recommend calling ahead if you're unsure about weather-related closures.
Recreational Ski FAQs
I am an absolute beginner, can I join recreational skiing?
Recreational skiing is for those who can control their speed using snowplough, can perform a snowplough turn both left and right, perform an emergency stop and use the button lift unattended. We recommend you book a private ski coaching session or a Level 1 and 2 course before you can attend recreational skiing.
I am a really good skier, can I teach my friend how to ski during recreational skiing?
No, all teaching needs to be carried out by our qualified instructors. Those seen to be teaching during recreational skiing will be asked politely to leave the slope.
I can ski but haven’t skied for a very long time, will I be okay to attend recreational skiing?
If you were happily skiing red runs or above, you should be absolutely fine to find your ski legs again during recreational skiing. If you have only skied before for a week or so and it has been several years since you last skied, we would recommend having a private ski coaching session to remind you of the basics before attending recreational skiing.
